Continuing the long tradition at the Salk Institute of exploring the myriad connections between art and science, this event provides a platform to communicate the visual splendor of scientific research in the form of fashion design.
Biological images taken in Salk laboratories are the inspiration for clothing created by aspiring design students from San Diego Mesa College’s prestigious design program. Salk researchers and Mesa College’s aspiring designers will collaborate to raise awareness and critically needed funds for scientific research. All proceeds from the event benefit the Salk Women & Science Special Awards Initiative, which provides awards to female scientists conducting high-risk research projects.
Seating is limited, first come first serve, no assigned seating.
